🌿 A Message from Our Founder
Charity Muthungu – Kahawa Premium Coffee
My journey began in a quiet village called Rititi nestled near the foothills of Mount Kenya. As a little girl, I walked barefoot through rows of coffee trees, holding my mother’s hand. Like many women in our community, she woke up early on chilly cold mornings before the sun and toiled till dusk, sorting, drying, and carrying heavy sacks of coffee cherry.
Yet despite their hard work, our mothers earned too little to give us enough food or quality education. Coffee brought the world joy, but left women behind it with empty pockets and unfulfilled dreams.
Kahawa Premium Coffee is my way of rewriting that story. What began in the red soil of Kenya is now a global mission: to ensure that the women behind every coffee bean can feed their families and send their children to school with dignity.
