Our Coffee Processing Journey
At Kahawa Premium Coffee, quality begins at the source. Nestled in the lush highlands of Kenya, our coffee is processed at the renowned Thunguri Coffee Factory, where tradition meets innovation to produce globally export-ready green coffee.
Our journey begins at the factory gate, where smallholder farmers deliver freshly harvested coffee cherries. Each batch is carefully inspected to ensure only ripe, high-quality cherries enter the system.
From there, the coffee undergoes wet processing, where advanced pulping machines remove the outer skin. Fermentation is carried out in sealed tanks to preserve flavor integrity, followed by solar-powered drying on raised beds — a natural, eco-friendly method that enhances cup quality.
In our quality lab, samples are graded, grouped, and tested. Our cupping sessions analyze fragrance, aroma, acidity, body, and sweetness — identifying the cleanest, most vibrant profiles.
